Mental Health and Wellbeing
Tuesday, 18 February 2025

Welcome to the first Mental Health and Wellbeing section of the OIU newsletter for the year! One of the biggest factors in maintaining good mental health is having a strong sense of community and belonging.

Being part of a supportive network—where you feel valued, connected, and heard—can make a huge difference in reducing stress, anxiety, and even depression. It also builds resilience, helping us navigate life's inevitable ups and downs. Simply put, knowing there's a group that has your back can be a game-changer for your overall wellbeing. With that in mind, we're kicking off a new initiative: regular bi-monthly mental health walks, cycles, or runs.

These meetups will be an easygoing way to connect, check in, and enjoy some fresh air with mates. We're looking for volunteers to coordinate these activities for different year groups, ensuring each gathering is a mix of guys from similar eras. Whether it's a morning walk, a weekend run, or a scenic cycle around Sydney, the aim is simple—keeping the conversation going in a relaxed and supportive way.
