The GPS Gold Challenge, held every 2 years, brings together the Old Boys of the 9 GPS schools who have reached the milestone age of 50 years. The Event was founded by Shore old boy David
Hutchinson and was first held in 1999 making this year the 24th year of the event.

This year’s event to be held at Newington ( Oct 6-7) will see the Alumini Years of 1989 and 1990
participate in separate sporting competitions across 10 events – golf, shooting, rowing, tennis,
indoor cricket, basketball, touch footy, athletics, swimming. The day concludes with a gala dinner
and a debate between the schools which in itself is an absolute highlight.

The popularity of the Event has grown enormously over the years and the expectation is that some 600 old boys will participate this year. Whilst old rivalries are reignited the Event is first and
foremost a REUNION among the 9 GPS Schools. Funds are also raised and according to David
Hutchinson, over $300k has been donated over the years to the Redkite Foundation

Alumini Years for 1991 & 1992 will be lining up in October 2024, when we hope to be hosting the event back at "View!
