OLD BOY PARENTS JOIN IN P&F SOCIAL CRICKET MATCH
Thursday, 6 April 2023
It didn't rain, the ground was in top condition, there was a lot of good cricket played, and bar Mark Edwards' tender calf muscle towards the end of day, everyone survived the days' activities injury free.
Thank you firstly to everyone who registered to play - you can't have games of cricket without players. Both games were played in the right spirit, and everyone seemed to enjoy the experience of playing on First Field.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who helped with umpiring, scoring, serving lunch/ afternoon tea, supporting from Fr Mac and cleaning up at the end.
A massive thank you to Liz and Simon Thorp for organising the BBQ breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea - that was an amazing spread. The boys were treated to a real 1st XI style lunch and afternoon tea, which truly added to the experience of playing on First Field.
A finally, thank you to the College for the opportunity for the P&F to have a Social Cricket Day on First Field. It was greatly appreciated by the boys and the parents and carers alike.
Overall, it was a great community building event, and was definitely worth the effort in staging the Social Cricket Day.
