RIVERVIEW VIII VICTORIOUS AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

on behalf of the Union, we congratulate Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview 1st VIII crew who rowed their way to victory at the 2023 Australian Schoolboy Championships at Perth last weekend! This is the first time a Riverview crew has won this event ! The VIII completed the Schoolboy regattas undefeated all season, won the State Championships earlier this year, and took the trophy at the Head of the River less than two weeks ago. In addition, at the same Australian Championships, Year 12 student Jack Power brought home the Australian U19 Single Scull Champion title. We warmly acknowledge the many unseen hours of training, mental energy, faith, and effort that went into these remarkable victories. Well done to all our rowers and coaches, including MIC Dan Noonan (OR97) and Shed Coordinator Jim Busteed (OR69) for their tireless work behind the scenes. Dan Bolger President |
