139th Gold Cup Rowing Regatta
We're so proud of our crews who participated in the 139th Annual Gold Cup Rowing Regatta on Saturday, demonstrating incredible determination, strength, and College spirit. The Lane Cove River foreshore was packed with cheerful support for all those that competed, and over 7000 spectators joined us via the live stream. We congratulate the winning Saint Ignatius' College Riverview crews:
  • GPS Squad: 1st VIII, 2nd VIII, 2nd IV, 3rd IV, 4th IV and 3rd VIII won the final of their events Year 10 VIIIs: 10.1, 10.4 and 10.5 won their Divisions
  • Year 9 Quadruple Sculls: 9.1, 9.2, 9.5, 9.6 and 9.7 won their Divisions
  • Year 8 Quadruple Sculls: 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, 8.5 and 8.6 won their Divisions
We also congratulate Sydney Rowing Club, who retained the Men’s Gold Cup Eight, and Sydney University, who won the Women’s Gold Cup Eight – well done!

We would especially like to thank Mr Dan Noonan, Mr Chris O’Brien, Mr Bob Marsh, Mr Phil Elbourne, Mr Paul Brogan, Ms Maree Meagher, Mr Harry Brogan, Mr Jim Busteed, Mr Gareth Deacon from Rowing, as well as the Operations and Maintenance teams, ICT Department, and the Advancement Office for their input and energy in organising the event.
