University of Sydney student Matthew Selkrig (OR2022) has won a prestigious Order of Australia Association Foundation Scholarship, presented in November 2024 by Governor-General Sam Mostyn. Matthew Selkrig attended Riverview as a boarder from 2018 - 2022. During his time at school Matthew had many significant achievements, including captaining the 2nd XI football team and was placed 2nd in an Australia-wide Chinese Mandarin oratory competition. 

While he is not someone to typically boast about his achievements, I wanted to reach out, as Matthew was recently awarded an Order of Australia Foundation Scholarship. This award recognises students across Australia who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership and community involvement. Matthew is a second-year Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Advanced Studies student and Dalyell Scholar. He was one of five recipients of the $40,000 scholarship. As well as financial support, recipients benefit from mentorship provided by a member of the Order of Australia in their field of study.
