Nostalgia Mass and Luncheon
Thursday, 1 May 2025

Last month, the College welcomed 120 Old Ignatians' and friends back to the College for the annual Nostalgia Mass and Lunch, this year held with an ANZAC focus. Mass was celebrated by Fr Tom Renshaw SJ (OR90) who reminded us of the gift Pope Francis was to our Church and the world. Lunch began with a warm welcome from Principal Mark Tannock, who spoke with genuine affection for the Old Ignatian community. A special highlight of the day was the presence of Dr Harding Burns (OR42), who, at 100 years young, stood as our oldest Old Boy in attendance.

Dr Burns is a living bridge to the past, and a cherished reminder of the enduring legacy of our Riverview community. Guiding the afternoon with warmth was Sean Cunial (OR87) as MC, while James Rodgers OAM (OR71) delivered a stirring tribute to the Old Boys who served our nation in times of war. His toast to the College also paid tribute to the lasting influence of Riverview's teachers—words that struck a deep chord with many in the room. It was a truly memorable gathering, celebrating the rich legacy and lifelong connection shared by generations of Old Ignatians.
