What began as one Old Boy's vision to create lasting change is now a thriving movement. Edward Morgan (OR08) co-founded Bandu in 2022 with a mission to support First Nations communities through education, employment, and empowerment. Today, Bandu has grown to include over 130 participants across its program, and that's just the beginning. Held on July 10, the Bandu NAIDOC Week Lunch was a vibrant celebration of culture, connection, and community. With over 160 people in attendance, including 14 generous corporate partners, the event brought together supporters, friends, and community members in an afternoon of powerful storytelling, shared values, and joyful celebration. The atmosphere was electric. There was dancing, deep conversation, and a heartfelt auction of Indigenous artworks and handcrafted didgeridoos, all in support of Bandu's mission to walk alongside First Nations people and help build brighter futures. Edward's decision to start Bandu is the true embodiment of Riverview's motto, "A Man for Others." Through this work, Ed has transformed compassion into action, living out a commitment to justice by creating real opportunities for Indigenous youth. His impact is already being felt, not just in numbers, but in lives changed. Bandu's efforts have also been recognised through major support and funding. In 2024, they received a $100,000 grant from Impact100 Sydney, enabling the expansion of their mentoring and employment programs. Bandu was also named a beneficiary of ICAP Charity Day, helping to cover key costs for participants such as relocation, training, and application fees. If you're inspired by this work, now is the time to get involved. Your donation directly supports programs that are helping close the gap, and changing lives in the process.
