1975 50 Year Reunion
Wednesday, 10 December 2025

On Friday 24th October the Class of 1975 held their 50 Year Reunion at the Helm Bar at Cockle Bay. The event was preceded by golf at Moore Park on Thursday attended by 17 mixed ability players.

The main event on Friday had a very healthy attendance by 84 out of 133 who attended in our year group between 1969 to 1975 and 101 who left in 6th Form (Year 12 in today speak), of which 15 have sadly passed away.

The day itself was a great success due to the high turnout, wonderful venue and perfect weather. Drew de Carvalho MC'd the day with the Class Captain John Wilcox performing the Welcome speech and rememberance for those of us who have passed on.

On Saturday about a dozen recovered for lunch at The Neutral Bay Oaks, some with their partners and spouses.

The main organiser Peter Sullivan and the rest of the Committee (John Wilcox, Mitchell Chapman, Todd Morgan & Drew de Carvalho) received warm words of thanks from many of the year group some of whom were somewhat apprehensive having not attended a Reunion for some time. The following are just two of quotes.

Quote 1

"I would also like to add my thanks to the organising committee for a very well organised couple of days. Super fun. I won't miss another reunion (unless you know what!). Was so good to have a good chat with classmates I actually hardly ever spoke to at school. Hope we can all have the opportunity to meet up again in 5 years. Best wishes to all. Michael Ell"

Quote 2

"Wow what a fantastic day! God bless all the committee members. To all my brothers in the '75 year, the sense of love and commitment was remarkable to experience. Extraordinary continuance of a strong bond not withstanding lack of contact. It makes me so proud and privileged to be part of the 1975 group. Love you all and delighted to see everyone soon and happy to assist in any way possible within my control.p.s. Don't be shy to ask me for lunch anytime. Gerard Malouf."
