Following on from the recent announcement of the re-opening of Teresa House, the CANA is now seeking to fill the volunteer roster. The house is located at 96 Redfern St, Redfern and is in the final stages of fit out. It will accommodate up to 7 guests and 2 volunteers. In the past Riverview supported the Friday and Saturday dinner/overnight  shifts and expect this to remain though other nights will become available.

Riverview volunteers have provided significant support for Teresa House in the past and hopefully can continue to support this much needed housing for the homeless. Shift allocations will  commence once the coordinators fill the roster. "We know there was strong support in the past for Teresa House amongst our community. We need people to go on the website and register or contact Cana if they have any questions" CANA Coordinator Peter Goodman said. He added CANA has updated its requirements for volunteer registration.

Instructions for completing the registration process are here

A video of the recent induction meeting can be viewed here.

All of our volunteers are now asked to complete a National Police Check and to complete some training. They also require all of our volunteers to be vaccinated against COVID19.

If you are ready to recommence as a volunteer with Cana Communities at Teresa House, can you please reply to the email below and they will send through detailed instructions. Once you have completed registration and training we will be able to add you to the Teresa House roster.

NB: we will not be including under 18’s as volunteers at Teresa House until 2023.
