RIVERVIEW COLLEGE LIFEBLOOD TEAM - WE NEED YOU !
Tuesday, 24 October 2023
Australian Red Cross Lifeblood is appealing to anyone with Type O blood to book a donation
in the next two weeks as its own stocks of both blood types reach their lowest point in a
year. An extra 500 blood donations of O positive and O negative blood are needed every single
day over the next fortnight to boost supplies for patients in need. Riverview Healthcare Coordinator Leanne Neal OAM was speaking after young OIU members Paddy Eggers and Fly McGoldrick stepped up to donate to the Riverview team !   We now need the OIU to join TEAM RIVERVIEW  to go online and book in for a donation.  Please remind old boys to encourage, relatives, neighbours, friends, colleagues to also join our ‘Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview lifeblood team’.  Everyone is welcome to join our College team, but they must remember to join up for our team or to mention it they go to donate.

Leanne added "to ensure we continue to meet the needs of patients across the country, the Red Cross has asked everyone who is eligible – more than 13 million people – to become blood and plasma donors. If they could give just one more donation each year it would make a huge difference, especially to lives of those who receive it.”

Note - O positive and O negative were the blood types most frequently ordered by
hospitals.
