Family and friends of Riverview gathered last Friday at the home of Sim and Richard Madigan (OR89) in Orange to celebrate another year and receive an update from the School Principal Dr Hine. Director of Boarding Anthony Begg introduced host Richard to propose a toast to the School. He kindly thanked Dr Hine and the staff present for the wonderful work they of doing educating our boys. Dr Hine recounted a brief history of noted Riverview family the Daltons, who have had a presence in the Orange District since the 1840s. Orange resident Sheelagh Tancred, wife of former School Captain John Tancred (OR65) advised me that she was member of the Duntryleague Foundation Board, a not for profit group of Orange locals dedicated to preserving the original Dalton mansion (1874).
